Dr Iain Coleman is a highly experienced research impact professional. He has worked in both the higher education sector and private industry, providing support to researchers, businesses and institutions to maximise the economic and societal benefits of university research.
Iain has worked in research impact and REF management roles in a range of UK universities, including Russell Group and post-92 institutions. He has supported and managed research impact since the beginning of the UK impact agenda, and has extensive experience of the REF and KEF processes.
Iain also has a strong understanding of the policymaking environment and its relationship with the research community, having worked in political roles at local and national level.
Since entering the private sector as a consultant, Iain has provided high level support and expert advice to universities and businesses in the UK and around the world, including Hong Kong, Australia, India and Japan.
